The Big Business Behind Big Data //TECH 231

James Griffin, CTO, Idio

Wednesday, April 25th  from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm.

Big Data has become the hottest buzzword in business, with potential to completely transform the way companies interact with their customers. However, there's a lot of confusion around what exactly it is and what it can do. This class will demystify Big Data by looking at its place in computing history and teaching the building blocks of Big Data technology. We'll examine different industry success stories and highlight both its potential, as well as limitations. The course is perfect for developers wishing to get started in Big Data, and for execs who are interested to see how it can benefit their business.

James Griffin is the CTO at Idio, a leading content marketing technology firm who fuse natural language processing, web analytics and data mining to provide greater customer centricity through personalization. James is also the director and developer of Imaginary Roots, a self-run development house, which focuses on building useful applications for both the desktop and the web. Clients range from startups to international firms.
